What is a GI or the Glycaemic Index?
The Glycaemic Index looks at how the carbohydrates in your
food affect your blood sugar level. Surprisingly, not all
sugary or starchy foods affect the blood sugar level the
same way. Some foods have a drawn out, slow effect on your
blood sugar level while others cause a sudden, dramatic
change.
Blood sugar level effects
Eating food that suddenly raises your blood pressure will
also make it 'crash' afterwards as your body overcompensates and
metabolises more than it should. This is why you can feel tired
a short while after eating something sweet, you get the initial
rush of sugar in your blood then your blood sugar, and energy
levels, dive down.
Weight loss and GI diets
A slower release of sugar keeps you feeling fuller, longer.
As a result you don't eat so much and you lose more weight.

such as the Clean 9 and Lifestyle 30 that can really kick start

asked!
A GI diet is about a sensible, healthy eating regime. You
need to be sure you are getting all the vitamins and minerals
you need and not eating the 'wrong' kinds of food.
